BWRT® is designed to rapidly change the way your brain reacts to specific stressors – reducing, changing or ending trauma reactions, anxiety, habits, repetitive unwanted behaviour, phobias and more.

The brilliant thing about BWRT® is that you don’t have to endlessly explore past issues in depth. You only need to share the broad subject you want to work on — such as social anxiety, procrastination, fear of flying, or low self-esteem — without having to share detailed experiences or relive painful memories.

It does this by using neuroscience to change the way you respond to the issue in the first place. It’s your unconscious response that influences how you react and feel each time you come across something similar to anything you’ve experienced before.

How it Works

The oldest part of your brain — through which all of your external stimuli initially travels — was designed to protect you for survival. With every situation you experience, this unconscious part of the brain does a rapid pattern-match to find a way to respond, based on how you reacted before.

It looks for the best match and, in this way, things can get categorised together even though they are only very loosely similar. You then immediately start to react accordingly — thousands of neurons have already fired up pathways in your brain towards an outcome before conscious thought has even kicked in!

As Terence Watts explains:

“Many ‘symptoms’ are the result of a behaviour or thought pattern ‘firing up’ that has been activated before. It might actually have been suitable or effective at one time but the fact that it isn’t now is of no consequence to the non-reasoning part of the brain. BWRT® makes it possible, via a simple technique, to create a new response pattern to any stimulus so that the action the brain triggers is one that we want.”

About Jo

Jo Helesfay-Evans’ early working life went from BBC Radio 2 to a PR consultancy, then off to sea on cruise ships, building a career and travelling the world. Upon her return to a land-based life, she decided to retrain in all kinds of therapeutic processes, propelled by her passion to help others re-establish harmony in their lives.

After over 25 years working therapeutically with clients, Jo was searching for alternative ways to help those suffering with OCD when she came across BWRT®—and was intrigued and delighted by how effective, remarkable, and speedy the transformation could be for such a wide variety of issues. Jo is delighted at the results her clients have been achieving with BWRT®.
